Adam was born in Langley and raised in South Surrey/White Rock. He first played lacrosse for the Semiahmoo Trojans when he was five years old. He said, “My dad, Troy Dickson, inspired me to play lacrosse and I fell in love with it. My minor lacrosse highlights included playing in multiple tournament championships and one Provincial Championship with Semiahmoo Rock. Adam was an ace on offense for the New Westminster Junior A Salmonbellies in 2014, 2015 and 2016, scoring 81 goals and 87 assists for 168 points with 20 PiM in 52 games, including an astonishing 53 goals and 45 assists for a whopping 98 points in only 20 regular season games in his final summer, earning the Bob Reid Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement. He also scored 15 goals and 29 assists for 44 points with 11 PiM in 19 playoff games. Adam earned a B.Sc. in Accounting at the Ohio Valley University of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference at the same time he met the grueling demands that all varsity sports athletes have to meet, scoring 54 goals with 25 assists for 79 points in 30 games, being named to multiple All Conference Teams and helping his team win the regular season championship. He then attended High Point University for one year, completing his Master of Business Administration degree (!). Adam is currently working for Fidelity Investments as a Business Development Associate under the guidance of Devon Mahussier and Shea McEachrane-Johnson. Adam was a key on offense for the Maple Ridge Burrards in 2017 and 2018, scoring 22 goals and 42 assists for 64 points with 2 PiM in 40 regular season, playoff and Mann Cup games. Adam’s favourite films are the Die Hard movies and the HBO series “Band of Brothers”, “The Pacific” and “Game of Thrones.” He and his brother Carter run Icon Lacrosse Camps with local minor lacrosse associations to develop their youth lacrosse programs. Adam says, “I am dating Sarah Strachan. We have been friends since high school and she’s finally given me chance.” [Nice.] As for the most important influences in his lacrosse career to date, Adam says, “My father, Troy Dickson, is the person I credit the most with my lacrosse career. I would have not made it with far without the support of not only him but my mother Candide Dickson as well.” [Also nice.]
